My best experience was to be here in California.

Within four months I did everything I wanted to do in my whole life. My whole experience here at FLS was just wonderful.

Brazil

I am content with life with my homestay family.

I love my family and they show me that they enjoy having me with them every day. So we have a great time together. Thanks to FLS, I have the chance to meet a lot of people from different countries with different culture.

TOEFL class is good for improving my English skills.

I have received information about various subjects in this class. For example, I have learned about biology and sociology. My knowledge and comprehension has flourished! My TOEFL teacher, Staci has a lot of experience and has helped me. Learning TOEFL at FLS is great because I can take the  iBT TOELF exam at FLS Las Vegas before I leave for my university studies.

Colombia

I have enjoyed getting to know people from other countries.

I have had the opportunity to know another cultures and different points of view about several topics. For example, I really enjoy my TOEFL class because I can evaluate my skills. This is a good compliment with my advanced core class where I interact with less people and the style of the class is different.

I am also very happy and feel very comfortable with my homestay family. The fact of sharing my time with another student with whom I can only communicate in English has been the biggest opportunity to learn. With my host family, I have learned not only English, but also places and the value of family in America.

I like Lock Haven!

I think it’s easy to learn English living in a small town. Metropolitan areas have too many distractions. I’m really enjoying my classes. My teachers are excellent.

When asked if she’s improved her English in the two months she’s been here, Natalia said:

"Totally! I’m totally better now than when I came here. I was so scared to speak with people, I was so nervous! Now I talk with many people, and I have international and American friends."

My classes are really fun and very helpful for my English.

Sometimes the lessons are challenging and it really helps my vocabulary. I feel I’m learning a lot—not only English language but a lot about American culture too, both in my classes and outside of school. My teachers are friendly and very kind, and they make the classes interesting. I’ve made a lot of good friends here and I’ve been able to meet people from many different countries.

Korea

I have been at FLS for 3 months now. Now I almost am adapted to life in America and my new school life.

Level 5A class was good for me because I had to study very much so I could improve English. I am missing the Brazilian students who were very funny and friendly. I liked them. November and December have a lot of holidays, so it went very fast.

I have been here for almost 4 months. I enjoy studying at FLS every day.

I’ve never been afraid or nervous about classes. Some classes are funny and interesting, such as conversation class. I also learn many vocabulary words and grammar in my main course. I like the teachers, the students, and activities here.
